Health & safety.

Our Health and Safety Manager is responsible for completing the outline Pre-Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan prior to works commencing.

Having visited site and discussed the works with our own project management team he will prepare The Construction Phase H & S Plan, the site specific risk assessments and method statements for all works in relation to our contract. All our Project Managers undergo a rigorous Health & Safety Training Package in order that they have the necessary skills and qualifications required by Law. As the Main Contractor we also ensure that all necessary coordination, with regards to health and safety, will be made with any sub-contractors that we employ.

Formal site induction of all our operatives together with regular site visits from our Health and Safety Manager (and Opl Directors) ensure that the safest working practices are used at all times. Site induction is followed up by weekly tool box talks on a chosen subject and Health and Safety is an agenda item at weekly site meetings and followed up with weekly Site Audits.

Opl operate its own Permits to Work system for any hazardous and hot works such as plumbing, cutting and working at height. Opl has an enviable safety record over the past 15 years.
