The challenge

To refurbish and fit out Steelcase's state-of-the-art sales office, showrooms and resource centre in Farringdon, London.

Where they were

Steelcase has 11,000 employees worldwide, manufacturing facilities in 28 locations and more than 650 dealer locations around the world. The company is the global leader in the office furniture industry, designing and manufacturing architecture, furniture and technology products; it also helps people tto have a better experience at work by providing products, services and insights into the ways they work.

Steelcase's new base, the 10,000 sq ft Worklife London in Farringdon, needed to showcase the business's expertise, products and technology in an environment to inspire its customers and motivate its employees, and Opl was appointed as main contractor.

What we did

Opl worked alongside award-winning architects and designers, Pearson Lloyd and Buckley Gray Yeoman, to create a space that would reflect the future of office environments. The scheme has been hailed a "triumph of collaboration and innovation" within the industry, and has been central in cementing Steelcase as the leader in cutting-edge office furniture.
